The warmest and most wonderful welcome one could experience when arriving in England.
We had crossed the Channel on a ferry and arrived to late for dinner at the Country House, but immediately Michael told us not to worry, and Amanda offered to drive us to a charming pub that was still open and to pick us up later, as they both were sure we would get lost. We tried to refuse, and rely on our GPS. But luckily she insisted, as certainly the GPS would never have found its way.
After a wonderful night in a sweet and comfortable room we were welcomed to an elegant breakfast and sent on our way with muffins, water and warm wishes for a safe trip to Scotland.
We were not leaving a small hotel, but a lovely home and delightful family.
