Access statement

Harrabeer Country House B&B rooms and apartments are accessible for anyone who can ascend one flight of stairs, but regrettably not suitable for wheelchair users or people with severe mobility impairment.

Our B&B bedrooms are on the first floor and accessed by a single flight of stairs, while our first floor apartment (The Hayloft) in the converted barn is accessed by a single staircase. Our ground floor apartment (The Threshing Barn) is suitable for people who can manage a single step into the apartment and step up into the shower, but is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Parking

Our private car park has space for five vehicles and allows direct access to the house and barn. It is tarmacked with a slight slope. There is one step up to the front door of the House, and one to The Threshing Barn; access to The Hayloft stairs is at ground level with no steps. There are two additional steps from the reception hall into the guest snug. We offer assistance on arrival and departure to carry luggage if required.

Public transport

There is a bus stop in Yelverton village, 500 metres from the property up a steep hill, from which are frequent bus services to Plymouth (and Plymouth station), Tavistock and other local destinations.

The nearest train station, Plymouth, is 30 minutes away by car or taxi.

Garden

B&B guests access the garden via the back door onto the covered verandah on which are high backed rattan armchairs. There is level passage from the verandah into the garden which is largely grassed with a slightly sloping lawn. Paths are covered in medium-size loose decorative stone.

Apartment guests can access the garden via the garden gate in Harrowbeer Lane, which is a 50m stroll from the car park. There is a high threshold to the gate over which one must step on the garden path.
